This weekend was the baby shower to welcome Little Miss Sophie’s impending arrival. The theme was “Lemonade Social” in pink and yellow.

I had a lot of fun decorating for this party.  First, if you remember, I created this invite.

I wanted a sort of “Southern Belle” feel to the party.  A hint of country living, with some girly twists.

If you’ll notice the flower next to the lemonade pitcher, I pulled it from some beautiful Amy Butler fabric called Lotus Tree.

I purchased some of this fabric and incorporated it into the decor by using it as a runner on both the drink and food table.  It really pulled everything together, I think.

I made a bunch of hand painted chocolates and topped them with a custom candy wrapper to match the party.

There were also some matching rattle lollipops, but for some reason I didn’t get any photos!  I suppose you’ll have to use your imagination.

There were also custom waterbottles, typically my favorite on the tables.

I have some wonderful friends who were more than happy to contribute something to the party.  We had my friend, Kristin, (who you’ll remember making a cake for the 4th birthdays) who made the cake for this event.  Sophie’s room will be decked out in Hello Kitty which is why Kristin topped it with this super cute topper.

Then, several of my great friends brought food for the event.

I actually made these mints from a recipe my grandma used for refreshments at my mom’s wedding!  They were a big hit.  I might outline how to make them in a tutorial.  They are good!

All in all I think it was a great shower.  Ann and Sophie were showered with an outpouring of love.  I was very happy to get to share the experience with her.  She’s a very dear friend to me.

Now all the parties are done, and school starts next Monday!  Time to wind down the summer and get back to the grind.  I’m actually really ready.
